[one-half][drop-cap]H[/drop-cap]ello and welcome to the 2nd Sedgefield Brownies website.
We have been going for over 36 years. We are based in Sedgefield, County Durham. We have the most fantastic fun and the odd adventure too!
We are aged between 7 and 10 years old and we are a member of Girlguiding UK which is the leading charity for women and young girls in the UK. It has travelled all over the globe with over 10 million members worldwide and over 535,000 in the UK!
We provide the opportunity of giving girls a chance to try new things and discover new skills in a safe, girl-only environment. At Brownies girls can be themselves, have fun, build brilliant friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their lives and their communities.
We make a special ‘Brownie Promise’, our motto is to ‘Lend A Hand’ and you will always find us doing a ‘Good Turn’ – just ask our parents!
We meet once a week and we have fun. We take part in indoor and outdoor activities, we play games, sing songs, make things and enjoy fun activities. We have special nights when we have parties (fancy dress, witches and wizards, odd bod); we visit different places (planetarium, fire station, ice-skating); and we invite people to come and talk to us (first aiders, charity workers, other community groups).
And once a year we go on a holiday, a Pack Holiday!
We hope you like our website. It is packed with information about the kind of things we have been doing and also what we will be getting up to over the next few weeks.
Explore our website and learn all about 2nd Sedgefield Brownies.

If you would like your daughter to join our Pack, please see our Who Can Become a Brownie page, and follow the link to register your interest.
The latest of our challenges has been the Teddy Bear Challenge. We made teddy bear cakes, teddy bear bunting, had a pom bear blind tasting and of course a teddy bear’s picnic. See here for information and photos.
In 2014, the Brownies section of GirlGuiding is 100 years old! That means we need to celebrate, and in true Brownie style, take a challenge and have lots of fun. So we took the Big Brownie Birthday Challenge and we had a Big Brownie Sleepover. We took photos and jotted down some of the things we got up to. So take a look here for our challenge, and take a look here for our sleepover.
Each year 2nd Sedgefield Brownies helps to plant tubs on the village green to help Sedgefield with their Britain in Bloom entry. This year is no exception and 6 of our 2nd Sedgefield Brownies helped to make Sedgefield bloom, see here for the photos.
