A Celebration of 21 Years of Services to Guiding
On 24th June 2012 Joanne Tinkler and Joanne Lazonby will celebrate 21 years of being Leaders with 2nd Sedgefield Brownies. That is 21 years of providing girls aged 7-10 with the opportunity to experience exciting opportunities, challenges and fun, to have the odd adventure and make friends, in short, to be a Brownie.
The two Jos have not only provided 21 years of weekly Brownie meetings but also 17 years of Pack Holidays (Flower Power, Pirates, Circus, Peter Pan to name a few), many district and county events and plenty of fabulous parties. They bring with them a passion to help and encourage and have an enthusiasm that has been appreciated by many girls over the years.
The pack has gone from strength to strength with a long waiting list and currently boasts a great team supporting the two Jos. This includes: Caroline, a Leader of 14 years and the accountant and website bod; Elaine, a Leader of 8 years and our resident art and craft person for both weekly meetings and pack holidays; Eleanor, Mum to a Brownie 11 years ago who we have never let go; Lauren, a Young Leader who has been part of our pack since she was 7 (she is now 18); and finally Megan, who is currently working towards her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and was also one of our past Brownies.
To celebrate, 2nd Sedgefield Brownies will be holding a party on Monday 25th June from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm . . .
